Thousand Words FilmS is a small, independent studio making full-length dark fables — folk tales of rivers, creatures and forgotten villages, told as films you can watch in one sitting.
We premiered our first film on 19 September 2026. Since then our films have been watched 941K times — 89K hours in all. (As of 25 September 2026.)
Every film we make is about the same thing underneath: the bond between a person and something the world is afraid of. A ferrywoman and the river creature she raises in secret. A son who has guarded a prison for twelve years without knowing who is inside.
We borrow from real folklore and old worlds — the stories every river country tells, the caravan cities of the ancient roads — and then build worlds of our own around them, with their own customs, rules and consequences.
How we make them
Our films are made with AI-generated visuals and voices. Each one starts as a written world bible and a set of coloured-pencil reference sheets for every character and creature, and is assembled shot by shot, scene by scene, then edited and mixed into a single film.
